With one foot in electronic dance music and the other in radical sound experiments and a very personal use of the voice, Ghanaian/French producer and vocalist PÖ unfolds a vast and versatile artistic universe

PÖ challenges your dancing shoes with afrocentric sets from Luanda to Kingston, Accra to Bahia, weaving together forgotten connections on the dancefloor and unlocking bodies for ultimate freedom.

She intertwines the colors of dancehall and heavy Brazilian funk with high speed caribbean madness and footwork, occasionally giving moments of relief before diving right back into some raging New Orleans bounce music.

Breaking up rhythms, switching up paces, her sets are a trove of discoveries and unexpected connections in high intensity energy.

PÖ has turned up the heat at major festivals like Nyege Nyege, We Love Green,

Roskilde, Peacock Society, Primavera Sounds, Shambala....

LIVE PROJECT:

PÖ released her debut album “Cociage” under the label Hakuna Kulala in March 2023.

A universe created with only her voice and filled with electronic soundscapes that mutate it in a multitude of directions, from hard-edged noise rap and industrial beats to West African folk passages, ambient and post-punk music.

 

Her show gives life to a character, vessel of raw emotions and eager to communicate them to the audience….

They closely watched the wind amplifying its howl through the crack of a door, the vehemence of the waterfall when it hits the stone, the vociferous statement of a mountain in its avalanche.

They learnt and chose to replicate running through the wires of machines.”
